Hell's Crossroads is a 1957 Western based on the downfall of the infamous James brothers, Jesse (Henry Brandon) and Frank (Douglas Kennedy). The film centers around Victor 'Vic' Rodell (Stephen McNally), an outlaw and former member of the James Brothers' gang. Rather than continue his life as a criminal, Vic instead wants to settle down with his fianc''e, Paula Collins (Peggie Castle); however, it's never that easy for an outlaw. Along with friend and fellow James gang member Bob Ford (Robert Vaughan), Vic is offered a full pardon from Missouri Governor Crittenden (Frank Wilcox) in exchange for help with bringing down the James gang once and for all. Vic and Bob agree to the Governor's terms, and seek out the James gang with one thing in mind: betrayal. While it is a fictional film based on real-life characters, Hell's Crossroads effectively adds a few unique twists to a story any Western fan is familiar with.moreless
