Hercules & the Masked Rider is a 1960 adventure film directed by Piero Pierotti. After fighting in a war in Flanders, Don Juan (Mimmo Palmara) returns home to the kingdom of Valverde and discovers that his lover, Blanca (Jose Greci), is engaged to another man. Her father Don Francisco (Renato Navarrini) has betrothed his unwilling daughter to the evil Duke Don Romero (Arturo Dominici) in order to create peace between their two lands. When Don Juan will not accept the new arrangement, Francisco banishes him from his kingdom. Don Juan soon finds a band of gypsies who are led by the beautiful Estrella (Pilar Cansino). After Don Juan shows that his battle skills match those of the gypsy Hercules (Alan Steele), Estrella is impressed and invites him to join her tribe. Soon, Don Juan puts on a mask and works with the gypsies to create havoc in Duke Romero's kingdom. He also struggles to keep innocent Blanca out of the Duke's lecherous clutches so that he can once again be with the woman he loves.moreless
