Hercules in New York is a 1969 fantasy film, famous for being Arnold Schwarzenegger's first starring role. In this cheesy comedy, he plays a young Hercules who leaves to find excitement in New York City. He stumbles through many hilarious shenanigans in his adventures as a professional wrestler. Unfortunately his father (Ernest Graves), back on Mount Olympus, does not see the humor in his son's antics and feels that he is making a mockery of the Gods. He sends the goddess Nemesis (Taina Elg) to take care of his wayward son, and she strips him of his divinity by means of a poison. With a strongman competition ahead of him, angry gangsters on either side and a large sum of money bet on his failure, Hercules is forced to take on his challenges as a mortal man. Watch him struggle to keep himself and his new friends alive without the use of his inhuman strength.
