Hero2Hero is the 2004 benefit concert filmed live in the Shepherds Bush Empire in London. The concert features guitarist Ronnie Wood from the Rolling Stones playing alongside the band The Charlatans. The Empire is packed to capacity, around 2,000, and Wood treats the audience to classics like "You're So Pretty," "Love is the Key," and "Can't Even Be Bothered." Also on stage are rapper Estelle and jazz great Roy Ayers. Frontman Pete Doherty, formerly of the Libertines, plays with his own personal band, Babyshambles. Other singers include Rell, Nicole Wray, DJ Clark Kent, and N.O.R.E. The result is a blend of rock and rap that is full of energy and emotion, with smooth lyrics laid down over soothing beats. Kane's performance is particularly strong as he woos the audience. The show itself isn't a competition, but it becomes clear that if the artists are lined up one against another, those who have been at it the longest still have something significant to teach their young followers.moreless
