Hey Good Lookin' is an adult animated film set in 1950s Brooklyn, New York. Vinnie (voiced by Richard Romanus) is the girl crazy leader of a gang called the Stompers, his best friend Crazy (David Proval) is an impulsive, wannabe artist, and Rozzie (Tina Bowman) is a young girl who catches Vinnie's eye. Despite Vinnie's tough exterior he is not as tough as he appears, but when Crazy intimates that Vinnie is losing his edge because of his feelings for Rozzie, Vinnie initiates a rumble with the Chaplains, a rival black gang. The depiction of the 1950s in Hey Good Lookin' sharply contrasts with typical Hollywood depictions of the era, with graphic depictions of sex and violence, as well as depictions of the rampant racism of the time. Hey Good Lookin' was written and directed by Ralph Bakshi, who originally intended the film to be a mix of animation and live action for release in 1975. After Warner shelved the film, Bashki dropped the live action elements and released this version in 1982.moreless
