Highway Dragnet is a suspenseful, drama filled crime-thriller directed by Nathan Juran. The 1954 film recounts the tale of a Korean War veteran Marine (Richard Conte) who is trying to outrun the allegations surrounding a bar-dwelling young woman whom he was seen with only hours before her brutal murder. He is hitchhiking when he finds a ride with a beautiful freelance fashion photographer (Joan Bennett) and her youthful top model accomplice (Wanda Hendrix). The ex-Marine soon comes to find out that his new friend, the fashion photographer, is trying to escape murder charges from the Las Vegas police department. The ruthless Las Vegas police force close in on the trio as the ex-Marine discovers a shocking secret one of his companions have hidden. This riveting screen play by Herb Meadow and Jerome Odlum is based on a story by U.S. Anderson and Roger Corman, the film features Joan Bennett, Richard Conte and Wanda Hendrix.
