Hip Hop Time Capsule: The Best of RETV 1993 is a documentary celebration of a foundational season in hip hop's history. The early 90s were an explosion of hip hop, when artists like Redman, ONYX, and Dr. Dre were big. This is a collection of samplings of lyrics and beats that made hip hop so hot at the time. Hosted by Tony "Hard Workin'" Perkins, the film includes interviews with some of the greats that made the genre what it was, such as The Pharcyde and Live Squad. There are also music videos from the era and live performances from some of the signature artists. Over twenty artists are included in this hour-long show, such as LL Cool J, 2 Pac, and Naughty By Nature. For both connoisseurs and the curious, Hip Hop Time Capsule reveals the reasons that hip hop became so popular so quickly, and it features a lot of great music.
