Hit Parade of 1943 is one of many movies that was connected to the name Hit Parade. The name came from the "Hit Parade" radio show that Lucky Strikes cigarettes sponsored. The movie is a very fun musical surrounding the life of an aging composer Rick Farrell (John Carrol). Rick has decided to take some of the best songs from young, up and coming musician Jill Wright (Susan Hayward) when he has run out of inspiration to write his own songs. Jill becomes angry at Rick though and doesn't allow him to steal her songs without a fight. The rest of the musical chronicles the argument between Jill and Rick as Jill tries her hardest to get all of her stolen songs back and to get Rick to stop playing them. This musical is very fun and has music that everyone will enjoy. The song "Change of Heart" from the musical was even nominated for an Oscar in 1944.
