PG-13

The Holiday is a Christmas time love story that touches all the right love strings. The film is written and directed by Nancy Meyers (Something's Gotta Give). The film begins when two successful yet unhappy women from two totally different parts of the world find one another through a home-swapping website. Looking for a change they decide to trade houses over the holiday. Iris (Kate Winslet) is a London-based journalist who lives a picturesque cottage in Surrey, England. Amanda (Cameron Diaz) is a big-time Hollywood editor who owns her own movie-trailer production company and lives in a fancy mansion in Beverly Hills. Iris is heartbroken from an abusive relationship with a a colleague (Rufus Sewell), and Amanda has just broken up with her cheating boyfriend (Edward Burns). In their travels, Amanda hooks up with Iris's charming brother Graham (Jude Law), and Iris is unexpectedly smitten with Miles (Jack Black), a chubby but caring film composer who's on the edge of a bad breakup. The film is charming and heartwarming sparring no lack of Christmas magic.
