Holiday Inn stars two entertainment icons, Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire, as rivals for the affection of a beautiful woman. Jim Hardy (Bing Crosby) is a former crooner who left show business to run an inn that is only open on holidays. His former partner, Ted Hanover (Fred Astaire), is a dancer who is vacationing and performing at the inn. Hanover's partner, Lila Dixon (Virginia Dale), decides to part ways, leaving Ted in search of a new lady. Fortunately, there is an available lady at the inn, Linda Mason (Marjorie Reynolds). She has also caught the eye of Jim, and Hardy and Hanover proceed into a game of trying to outdo the other through song and dance, but only one can win the day and seize the heart of Miss Mason. With 13 songs by legendary composer Irving Berlin, this Academy Award nominated film is a vehicle for Crosby's legendary voice and Astaire's prolific dance steps.
