Hollywood Air Force (also known as "Weekend Warriors") is a 1986 comedy. It tells the story of Hollywood screenwriter Vince Tucker (Chris Lemmon), and his movie-star friends, who enlist in their local Air National Guard unit to avoid the 1961 Vietnam draft. Their unit proves to be as under-achieving as they are, except for their tough NCO Sgt. Burge (Vic Tayback), whose attempts to whip them into shape fail at every try. All is well until base commander Colonel Archer (Lloyd Bridges) orders them to put on a show to improve morale. When they prove to be a hit, their worst fears come true and they are threatened with being deployed to West Germany as a first stop on a comedy tour. So when Congressman Balljoy (Graham Davis) and the Romanian ambassador show up to visit, this motley crew will do everything they can to embarrass the unit. Viewer beware: one of the movie's major plot points revolves around the concept of burning flatulence.moreless
