Holy Robe of the Shaolin Temple is a martial arts film brought to you by the same director of Bury Me High - director Chui Siu Ming. The film stars Yu Rong Guang, who has appeared in other martial arts film classics such as Iron Monkey. The movie deviates from its predecessors in that is pays closer attention to the importance of sentimentality, honor, respect, and religion. The story is set during the Ming dynasty. A sacred temple called the Shaolin Temple is sought after by soldiers of the Ming dynasty. In an effort to prevent mass chaos and the crumbling of an entire religious sanctuary, Yuan Hui, abbot of the Shaolin Temple, sets fire to himself. Before Yuan Hui commits his act of martyrdom, he hands his sacred robe to two most trusted disciples. Unfortunately, the disciple carrying the sacred robe is assassinated. The enemy grabs the robe and make a run for it - but the second disciple is after them with a vengeance. The remainder of the story centers around this courageous monk who makes every effort to recapture the sacred robe of the Shaolin Temple. Be sure to catch this martial arts classic!moreless
