Home in Oklahoma is a western musical starring Roy Rogers and featuring appearances from Sons of the Pioneers and Bob Nolan. Roy is the editor for a local newspaper and Connie Edwards (Dale Evans) is a reporter from St. Louis. Connie comes to town to do a story on the possible murder of the owner of the Flying U Ranch, Sam Talbot, who allegedly fell off a horse to his death. Connie goes to Roy for help and they decide to investigate. They go to the reading of Sam Talbot's will and find that the estate is left to 12-year-old Duke Lowery (Lanny Rees). Talbot's niece Jan Holloway (Carol Hughes) is very angry about the will and thinks her uncle's fortune should have been left to her. Connie and Roy suspect foul play is afoot at Flying U Ranch and resolve to solve the mystery before anyone else gets hurt.
