Movie Summary

Released:
2001
Rating:
R
Home Movie is a film by director Chris Smith. Smith has a knack for making films that feature the most bizarre and entertaining human subjects. Home Movie is a 60-minute film that follows Chris across America as he visits five unusual houses, each defining "home" in a unique way. In Chicago, Chris meets Ben Skorka at his gadget house. The house features a Star Trek-like door that opens into four panels, a motorized chair and a talking robot that serves drinks. Next Chris travels to Hawaii to a treehouse owned by Linda Breech who uses a waterfall and ingenuity for running water. In the Bayou, Bill Tregle lives on a houseboat next to the alligators he hunts and rents out for movies. Near Topeka, Kansas, Ed and Diana Peden live in an abandoned missile silo. Last is the "cat house" where Bob Walker and Francis Mooney live with their 11 cats.
