Home Team is a family comedy about love, forgiveness and one man's ability to turn his life around. In the film, Henry Butler (Steve Guttenberg) is a professional soccer player, whose career was stopped short when he was convicted of illegal gambling. Recently paroled and with no job, Henry is ordered to do community services at a local home for boys. While doing his community service, Henry meets the caretaker of the home, Karen (Sophia Lorain). When Karen discovers that Henry is a former professional soccer player, she encourages him to help the boys improve their skills. Henry reluctantly agrees to help the boys and quickly realizes that they are not very good players. Although they will need a lot of practice, Henry quickly begins to bond with the boys and their caretaker, Karen. As he works overtime to try to turn this group of misfits into real soccer players, Henry begins to learn about the power of love and the meaning of forgiveness.moreless
