Hometown Legend is a 2002 family drama directed by James Anderson. In a small Alabama town, the high school football team used to be the most renowned team in the state, mostly thanks to their talented and beloved coach, Buster Schuler (Terry O'Quinn). However, during a championship game, an unexpected tragedy changed everything. Schuler's son, Jack (Dallas Jenkins), was injured during the game and died. Devastated and betrayed by the game he loved, Coach Schuler retired. Without the pride of their football team, the town suffered. Twelve years later, the high school is preparing to close entirely. Reluctantly, Coach Schuler agrees to come back and try to lead the team to glory one last time. In the tense atmosphere, Elvis Jackson (Nick Cornish) shows up unexpectedly. He is a teenage drifter attracted to the idea of winning a football scholarship and getting a free ride to University of Alabama. Supported by his new girlfriend, Rachel (Lacey Chabert), Elvis tries to get through to Coach Schuler and win the game.moreless
