Hong Kong Confidential is a 1958 thriller directed by Edward L. Cahn. The United States is about to sign a military deal with the King of Thamen, a small Middle Eastern country. But when Soviet agents capture the country's prince in the city of Hong Kong, the military alliance between the two countries is put in danger. CIA Agent Casey Reed (Gene Barry) is dispatched and given only two weeks to bring the prince to safety. Along with his girlfriend Fay (Beverly Tyler), Agent Reed poses as a lounge singer in one of Hong Kong's busy dive bars. As Agent Reed follows the trail of evidence, he finds himself captured by the very enemy agents he's supposed to be tracking down. With Agent Reed in their custody, the Soviets decide to use him to frame the United States for the kidnapping of the prince. The Soviet agents consider the lives of their two prisoners disposable, but Agent Reed has other things in mind.moreless
