Hood Rat is a 2001 dramatic thriller directed by Leslie Small. In the film, Max (Isaiah Washington) is a well-mannered, kind man who lives with his wheelchair-bound brother, Courtney (Guy Torry). Unfortunately for the brothers, their housing condition is horrible. They live in the basement of a dilapidated, rat-infested building run by a slumlord. The greedy, lazy landlord hires an exterminator, who is addicted to crack-cocaine, to rid the buildings of rats. He reports that the buildings is free of rodent infestations and the landlord pretends everything is okay. Max and Courtney realize they share their living quarters with rats, but do not complain because they are just grateful to have somewhere to live together. Max especially does not mind the rats and actually makes friends with them. One day while trying to return home, Courtney has an accident. Max is incredibly angry over the accident and vows revenge on the landlord and anyone else who gets in his way. Will Max get his revenge?
