Hook is a 1991 fantasy/adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg. It is a modern adaptation of J.M. Barrie's classic tales about Peter Pan. Peter Banning (Robin Williams) is a successful lawyer who spends more time at work than he does with his two children, Jack (Charlie Korsmo) and Maggie (Amber Scott). One night, Peter's children are kidnapped while they are asleep in their grandmother Wendy's (Maggie Smith) home, and a mysterious man named James Hook (Dustin Hoffman) leaves behind a ransom note. Soon, Tinker Bell (Julia Roberts) appears and transports Peter to a magical world called Neverland that he forgot existed. When he is greeted by the Lost Boys, a group of children who never grow old, he learns that he was once known as Peter Pan and was their leader. He also finds out that the person who took his kids is actually Captain Hook, the evil commander of the Neverland pirates and Peter's former arch-enemy. In order to get Jack and Maggie out of Captain Hook's clutches, the Lost Boys and Tinker Bell must band together to turn stuffy Peter Banning back into the flying, dueling, crowing Peter Pan.
