Hostage stars Bruce Willis as former SWAT officer Jeff Talley, a cop whose plan to live a simple life with his family is disrupted by a failed robbery that turns into a delicate hostage situation in this tense action-packed thriller. Talley and his family moved to peaceful Ventura County after a hostage negotiation in Los Angeles goes wrong, leaving Talley shocked and guilty. He hopes to find peace in his new home, but its not long before fate puts him back in charge of a life or death situation. This time the stakes are even higher, as the situation spirals out of control and a deadly crime syndicate becomes involved. Its up to Talley to diffuse the situation, and hell have to quickly conquer his demons if hes going to save anyones life"including his own. Hostage is based on the novel of the same name by Robert Crais, and was adapted for the screen by Doug Richardson.
