Movie Summary

Edgar Wright

Nicholas Angel is a man who has devoted his life to the Metropolitan Police Service in London. He's worked tirelessly in the department, earning medal after medal for his intense tactics, clean record, and clear results. However, his bosses fear Angel's work ethic is making the rest of the Service look bad. They transfer Angel to Sandford village in Southwest England, a town that has won multiple awards for its quaint atmosphere, beautiful landscaping, and welcoming locals and also for being the safest village in the country. Angel's bosses think he'll be happy there, but Angel can't stand the lacklustre local police, particularly his overweight and unenthusiastic partner, Danny Butterman. When a mysterious series of murders strikes the town, Angel begins an investigation that starts turning up some surprising and unsavoury truths about the picture-perfect village.
