Hot Rod Gang is the exciting coming of age musical drama about a young teen, John Abernathy (John Ashley), who sneaks out of his house late at night while his parents are asleep to go drag racing. John gets in a bit of trouble when he's arrested for recklessly driving, and then he gets framed for stealing hub caps. He's caught up in a world of girls, high-speed, and fun, but realizes he can't entirely fund his newfound habit. So he picks up another favorite hobby of his, playing in a rock band, and sneaks out late at night to perform. The performances in turn are going to fund his racing. John is joined by a racing buddy who helps him out along the way and stands up for him against a bitter and untrustworthy rival, Mark (Steve Drexel). The conflict builds amidst the playful and joyous sounds of 50s rock tunes.moreless
