Hound of The Baskervilles is a 1968 BBC production of the classic Sherlock Holmes adventure. Dr. Mortimer (David Leland) calls on Sherlock Holmes (Peter Cushing) for assistance investigating the death of Sir Charles Baskerville (Ballard Berkeley). Although Sir Charles seems to have had a heart attack, Mortimer believes he has fallen to the centuries old family curse that stems from the debauchery of their ancestor Sir Hugo. Now Mortimer fears for the safety of Sir Henry Baskerville (Gary Raymond), heir to Baskerville Hall, who will be returning from North America. When Holmes and Dr. Watson (Nigel Stock) meet Sir Henry, they notice a mysterious bearded man following the young man. Holmes asks Watson to travel back to Dartmoor with Mortimer and Sir Henry, while Holmes completes some other business. Watson observes the housekeeper, Eliza Barrymore (June Watson), and her husband, John (Christopher Burgess), the valet, suspiciously signaling to someone on the moor. Meanwhile, Holmes has been in town in disguise and the crime duo uncovers the truth behind the demonic hound legend.
