Movie Summary

Director:
Uwe Boll
Released:
2003
Rating:
R
House of the Dead is the 2003 action horror cult favorite, adapted from the popular video game of the same name, and brought to the screen by cinema's new king of schlock Uwe Boll (Alone in the Dark, BloodRayne, In the Name of the King, Postal, Rampage). The rave of the century is about to take place on an island off the coast where friends Rudy (Jonathan Cherry, They, Final Destination 2), Alicia (Ona Grauer), Karma (Enuka Okuma), Simon (Tyron Leitso), Greg (Will Sanderson), Cynthia (Sonya Salomaa), are off to. When they find out that the island is haunted by zombies, they and fellow survivors Liberty (Kira Clavell), Casper (Ellie Cornell, Halloween 4 and 5), and Captain Kirk (Jurgen Prochnow, Das Boot, In the Mouth of Madness) must battle the dead and learn about the history of Castillo (David Palffy, Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever), who haunted the island many years ago.

Whether this is a good or bad thing depends on just how much 14-year-old boy you've got in ya.

Does little more than add another title to the very long list of movies influenced by George Romero's 1968 horror classic, "Night of the Living Dead."
