How to Play Baseball is a classic animated short from Walt Disney that has Goofy teaching audiences the rules of baseball. Goofy (George Johnson) opens the film with a lesson how to wear a typical baseball uniform, only the dog's pants are a bit large for its skinny body. Goofy soon starts to make up silly names for the bat and bases, which starts to annoy the narrator (Fred Shields). Cameras then focus on the bottom of the ninth in the last game of World Series, where Goofy is a one-man team against himself. With the Blue Sox winning by three runs, Goofy gets himself on base three times by making some unusual plays. It's now bases loaded, and Goofy is pitching to himself. The dog takes a big base clearing swing, runs around the bags and slides into the home plate with the ball arriving at the same time. Things start to get a complicated after the umpire, who is also the wacky dog, can't decide if he's safe or out.moreless
