Human Traffic follows the lives of Jip (John Simm) and his five best friends, Lulu (Lorraine Pilkington), Koop (Shaun Parkes), Nina (Nicola Reynolds), Moff (Danny Dyer), and Lee (Dean Davies), as they battle their own personal demons as well as trying to come to terms with the relationship they have with each other. Jip is afraid that he is impotent and is somewhat of a sexual paranoid, Lulu is not entirely attracted to men, Nina hates her fast food job, Koop has a jealousy problem, and Moff's family does not condone his behavior. The group of friends starts the weekend planning to go clubbing to forget about the hectic previous week, but end up on a drug and alcohol binge that lasts the entire weekend. Through their drug induced highs and their hangover lows, the group finds out why they act the way they do, and try to overcome their individual problems.
