Hurricane Rosy is the 1980 unexpected love story between a boxer whose career is falling and his love, a champion wrestler, whose career is rising. Raoul Lamarre (Gerard Depardieu) has the chance to be a world champion but takes a stupid, cocky bet and ends up breaking his hand in an unnecessary fight. As a result, all that he had hoped for begins to come crashing down. He wanders accidentally into a carnival where he meets the passionate wrestler Rosy "the Hurricane" Spelman (Faith Minton), and they begin a unique relationship and a unique love story. But as Raoul deals with his own guilt and frustration, he's even more aggravated by the fact that Rosy seems to be headed to stardom. Rosy's manager Mike Fernandez (Roland Bock) only seems to be getting in Raoul's way as he does everything he can to feed her career, even if it will mean destroying their love.
