I Downloaded a Ghost is a 2004 family fantasy movie directed by Kelly Sandefur. Stella (Ellen Page) is a mischievous 12-year-old with big plans for Halloween, her favorite holiday. Stella enlists the help of her best friend, Albert (Michael Kanev), to design and execute the most spooky and amazing haunted house in the neighborhood. Since Stella and Albert are not the most popular kids, they hope the haunted house will win them a little respect. The two friends get carried away, however. Instead of finding helpful tips and tricks during their internet searches, Stella and Albert instead wind up accidentally downloading a ghost (Carlos Alazraqui), allowing him to pass from the spiritual realm into their world. It turns out the ghost used to be a stand-up comedian, meaning that he is more annoying and troublesome than spooky. While Stella and Albert try to figure out how to get rid of their ghoulish problem and carry off a haunted house at the same time, they start to realize that everybody might be able to work together.moreless
