I Remember Me is the documentary film by Kim Snyder, a filmmaker who was looking for her next project, when she was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, or CFS. Doctors know little about the illness, and it remains a mystery how it happens or how to fight it. Snyder set out to make the first full-length documentary about CFS. In the 80's in Lake Tahoe 300 people became ill with flu-like symptoms, and many still haven't recovered to this day. The cause remains a medical mystery, and in 1988 the US Centers for Disease Control named it Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. A heated debate in the medical community, the mysterious syndrome has struck multiple places over the years, and Snyder sets off on a four year journey to meet with these individuals in hope of some answers. When she unearths clusters of people affected across the country with very similar accounts, the mystery grows even deeper. A story of loss, perseverance, and overcoming difficulty, Snyder looks at the people behind this strange disorder in I Remember Me.moreless
