Identity Crisis is a comedy-filled 1989 movie written and directed by Melvin Van Peebles. Chilly D (Mario Van Peebles) is a struggling rapper who, due to a series of events, shares his body with the soul of a dead world-renowned fashion designer, Yves Malmaison (Richard Fancy). Despite being a homosexual, Yves, has a son named Sebastian (Ilan Mithell-Smith) with a red-haired American woman. One night in one of Malmaison's fashion show, a group of men poisons Yves and kill him. Chilly D, who steals dresses from Malmaison for his girlfriends, attends the event and now the same people who murdered the fashion designer chases the rapper. Due to a series of events, Malmaison wakes up with Chilly D's body. Whenever, the body is hit or struck with anything it switches to another identity, either Chilly D or Yves. However, Chilly D must help Yves find the killers and spoil their plans of taking over Malmaison's fashion company.
