Illegally Yours is a 1988 screwball comedy written by Max Dickens and M.A. Stewart. The film was directed by Peter Bogdanovich. The story follows Richard Dice (Rob Lowe), a college drop-out, who leaves school and goes back to his home in St. Augustine, Florida to put his life back together. When he is selected for jury duty, Dice is surprised to find that the defendant, Molly Gilbert (Colleen Camp), is a girl he had a crush on in grade school. Still somewhat infatuated with her, Dice decides to help her prove her innocence by finding an audio tape with a recording of the murder. Dice, however, is not alone in his search for the audio tape. Soon he is on the run from the real murderers, while avoiding blackmailers and dodging alligators. In the end, Dice must untangle a complicated set of lies to win the love of his grade school sweetheart.
