Illuminating Angels & Demons is a 2005 documentary directed by Dan Hall and Geof Petch. It was inspired by the best-seller "Angels and Demons", a book by Dan Brown (author of the internationally acclaimed best-seller "The Da Vinci Code"). The book depicts a world where the Vatican is involved in a secret, ancient battle with the Illuminati; a large underground organization. During the 90 minute in-depth documentary we see Simon Cox (author of "Illuminating Angels & Demons" and "Cracking The Da Vinci Code") and 11 others, set out on a quest to discover if there is any truth behind the theories posed in Brown's novel. By examining the works of artists, scientists, Popes, Emperors, Freemasons and Kings from the renaissance period in Rome, they attempt to answer some challenging questions. Why is the Vatican so secretive about so much of its history? Do the Illuminati really exist? If so, who are the Angels and who are the Demons?
