I'm Gonna Git You Sucka is the uproariously hilarious parody of the blaxploitation films of the 1970s from director Keenan Ivory Wayans. Wayans wrote and directed the film and takes the starring role of Jack Spade. Spade returns to his old neighborhood after his brother dies from a gold chain overdose and enlists the aid of an old friend John Slade (Bernie Casey), a crime fighter back in the day, to avenge his brother's death. With Slade's help, Jack assembles an army of crime fighters including Hammer (Isaac Hayes), Slammer (Jim Brown), Kung Fu Joe (Steve James) and Flyguy (Antonio Fargas). Their mission is to take down the local bling dealer, Mr. Big (Jules Vernon), and rid the streets of the scourge of over-blinging. Jack is forced into taking on the crime lord himself when his army fails in their mission. The film stars a roster of blaxploitation film stars and today's generation of comic actors including Kadeem Hardison, Chris Rock, Damon Wayans and Dawnn Lewis.moreless

The New York Times Janet Maslin

I'm Gonna Git You Sucka is a lively but uncertain mixture of nostalgia, silliness and genuinely unpredictable humor.
