Impasse is a 1969 adventure film starring Burt Reynolds as the ringleader of a group of veterans on the hunt for rumored hidden treasure. Pat Morrison (Burt Reynolds) rounds up ex-soldiers for a risky mission to hunt down $3 million in gold, which was stashed in the Philippines by U.S. Army officers during World War II as they escaped encroaching Japanese troops. Pat learns that the treasure has remained untouched for 25 years in the Corregidor Rock when a professional tennis player, Bobby (Anne Francis), hires him to find the gold with information provided by her ex-Army officer father, who is too frail to carry out the job himself. However, the intricate operation may be threatened by group infighting and by the romantic relationships Pat cultivates. When the adventurers finally begin the raid on Corregidor, they must reach Malinta Hill before competing treasure hunters -- who have shadowed the group and hope to profit from their work -- overtake them.
