In The Key Of G (2005) is documentary, directed by Peter Rosen, which follows the lives of eight talented, young pianists at the 2004 Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival. Held every two years in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, Michigan, the festival honors and awards the best young artists in America. At the festival, eight previous award winners gather to showcase their talent, in cooperation with each other, to play an array of challenging multi-piano pieces. In The Key Of G gives a behind-the-scenes look at the pianists as they struggle to create, rehearse and perform an outstanding show, one which should add to the world famous reputation of The Gilmore organization. Filmed in association with Peter Rosen Productions of New York, this film also features the Grand Rapids Symphony and Kalamazoo Symphony orchestras under the direction of David Lockington and Raymond Harvey, respectively. This film captures the love of music and passion the young artists have for their craft.
