Incognito is a 1997 movie written by Jordan Katz and directed by John Badham. Harry Donovan (Jason Patric) is a painter whose original paintings meet with limited success, but he excels at forging famous paintings for private clients. Harry Donovan heads to Europe for one final forgery that promises a big payout. But his plans to fund his retirement may just get him into trouble he can't paint his way out of. Harry Donovan meets the lovely Marieke (Irene Jacob) who introduces herself as an art student, and they enjoy a brief Paris romance after which they part ways. However, Marieke is much more of an art expert than she led Harry to believe, and she will soon be critiquing more than Harry's romantic moves. It is up to professor Marieke van den Broeck, Rembrant expert, to verify the authenticity of Harry's high-priced forgery. When she turns her critical eye on his latest work, will Harry continue to paint himself into a corner or find a way to rekindle his romance, cash in and retire?moreless
