Infinity is a biographical drama about Richard Feynman (Matthew Broderick), the American physicist known for his work with the atomic bomb. The story centers on Richard's relationship with Arline Greenbaum (Patricia Arquette). The film begins with Feynman as a boy fascinated with science and objects in motion. His curiosity and drive for knowledge is strongly reinforced by his father, Melvin Feynman (Peter Riegert). The only things that matter to Richard are science and his family, until he meets Arline in high school where their romantic relationship begins to grow. When she is stricken with tuberculosis, Richard desperately searches for a cure. After she goes into remission, they marry, against his family's wishes, and Richard continues on to college. The war leads the couple to Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico where Richard works on the Manhattan Project. But while Richard focuses on the project, Arline's health begins to fail.
