Informant is a made-for-tv-movie based on the book Field of Blood. It follows the story of Gingy McAnally (Anthony Brophy) as he goes from a member of the Irish Republic Party to becoming a government informant. Gingy is in retirement, having gone in exile with his family. He is tracked down for his skill with RPG, and when the Irish Republic Party asks him to perform one last job assassinating a judge, he reluctantly agrees to do it. However, the job fails and he's caught by the government. There he's led to believe his best course of action is to become an informant and turn in the members of Irish Republic Party he works with. From there he ends up torn between two different political agendas as Gingy fights to do what he believes is the right thing, keep his family out of danger, and to escape he situation with his life.
