Inside the Koran is a 2008 documentary, written and directed by Anthony Thomas. This film presents an in-depth look at the Koran, the religious text of Islam, through a historical as well as a modern perspective. Some Muslims believe that the Koran is the verbatim word of God, while others view it more along the lines of a flexible guideline. All Muslims strive to live according to the tenets of the Koran as they perceive them. Within the large and diverse group of over a billion believers, interpretations of the Koran can and do vary greatly. Anthony Thomas captures the depth and breadth of different Muslim followers with a close up view of the rich to the poor, from ayatollahs to farmers and their relationships and interpretations of one of the most influential books in the world, the Koran. Comparisons between the current Arabic version and the recently discovered Yemen versions are also discussed.
