Inspector Bellamy is a 2009 drama from acclaimed French director Claude Chabrol. It stars G''rard Depardieu as police detective Paul Bellamy and Marie Bunel as his wife, Fran''oise Bellamy. The couple is on their yearly vacation in N''mes when trouble shows up in the form of a stranger (Jacques Gamblin) who follows Bellamy around before confessing to a murder involving a fake identity, an extramarital affair and insurance fraud. If that isn't enough of a disruption, Bellamy's troubled and alcoholic step-brother, Jacques (Clovis Cornillac), shows up unexpectedly and moves in with the Bellamys. Fran''oise is not at all pleased to have her peaceful vacation interrupted and the film explores not only the murder mystery that is unfolding, but also the marriage of Bellamy and Fran''oise as they face these disruptions. This was Chabrol's last film before his death in 2010. It was filmed in French, with English subtitles.
