Inspector Gadget is story of a lowly security guard, John Brown (Matthew Broderick), who dreams of being a real crime fighter. One day he gets his chance; he is in hot pursuit of Dr. Claw (Rupert Everett), but John is left in a crumpled heap, lucky to be alive. John is left clinging to life, and his diagnosis is grim. Until one day Dr. Brenda Bradford (Joely Fisher) announces she has a plan to use her robotic expertise to rebuild John Brown into an amalgam of human and machine. Consequently, Inspector Gadget is born. Brown learns to use his newfound tools, with the help of Dr. Bradford, and is soon ready to challenge Dr. Claw and gain retribution for their earlier encounter. Along the way, Brenda and John fall in love. Can Inspector Gadget catch the evil Dr. Claw and live happily ever after with Brenda? Or will Dr. Claw destroy Inspector Gadget once and for all?
