Intermedio is a 2005 American horror film directed by Andrew Lauer and starring Edward Furlong, Steve Railsback, and Cerina Vincent. The film tells the story of four California teenagers, Malik (Furlong), Gen (Vincent), Barbie (Amber Benson), and Wes (Callard Harris), as they venture into a ghost town near the Mexican border for the weekend. The town is rumored to be full of underground tunnels that lead to Mexico, and in their thirst for adventure, the group wanders down into one, only to discover three Mexican men smuggling drugs into the country. They are held captive by the smugglers until a mysterious old man summons evil creatures to attack them. Fearing for their lives, the group bands together in hopes of finding an escape route. One by one the group is slowly killed off, leaving only two of the protagonists to find their way out of the town and away from the evil old man.
