Intersection is a 1994 American drama starring Richard Gere, Sharon Stone, and Lolita Davidovich. The film, directed by Mark Rydell (On Golden Pond, The River, James Dean), is based on a French film by Claude Sautet titled Les choses de la vie. As architect Vincent Eastman (Richard Gere) races through an intersection, his Benz overturns and his life flashes before his eyes. The film centers on Vincent's flashbacks as he takes his last breaths of air. There is one recurring theme which he can't seem to shake - that is, his marriage to his wife Sally (Sharon Stone), and the mistress with whom he had an affair, Olivia (Lolita Davidovich). As his mind wanders, he attempts to justify the reasons for his adultery. Sally was a cold partner, with whom a marriage felt more like a business transaction. As they grew distant from one another, he sought love in other areas - with a charming, warm-hearted and passionate younger woman.
