Into the Sun is an action film released in 2005 that stars Steven Seagal, William Atherton, Eddie George, Matthew Davis, and Takao Osawa. Modeled after the American yakuza films The Yakuza and Black Rain, the film was directed by mink, aka Christopher Morrison. The film is about the story of drama that pursues after the Governor of Tokyo is assassinated. Governor Takayama is mysteriously murdered during his campaign for election. Heads turn to CIA bureau chief Travis Hunter to find the murderer(s). He is assigned to work with rookie FBI agent, Sean (Matthew Davis). Travis had resigned from the CIA before the murder took place, and was well known for his mastery of sword and martial arts, which was achieved through many years of training from a former member of Yakuza. Travis (Steven Seagal) uses his former ties in the Yakuza to quickly determine that a brutal war is brewing between traditional and new members of the Yakuza. Just when Travis is getting close to finding the culprit, his fiance Nayako is brutally murdered by one of the Yakuza members. Things take a turn for the worse when Travis (Steven Seagal) has no choice but to seek revenge on the person who murdered his fiance.moreless
