Into the Sun is a 1992 action-comedy film by Director Fritz Kiersch. In the film, Captain Paul Watkins (Michael Paré) is an American pilot stationed in the Middle East, who is called away from his military duties to show actor Tom Slade (Anthony Michael Hall) everything that he needs to know about being a jet pilot in the Air Force. Slade requested to shadow a pilot for a character study, so that he may portray the role as accurately as possible in his upcoming film. Watkins, however, is less than pleased about having to leave his field assignment of protecting Mediterranean air space from an Arab country’s expansion attempts, in order to teach a Hollywood pretty boy. But when Watkins takes Slade for a ride in an F-16 fighter jet, some other American jets are attacked and the pair must enter an actual combat zone and try to save the day. Slade is put to the test, but this time more than just his acting career is at stake—does he have what it takes to be a soldier?moreless
