Islander is a drama film that centers on fisherman Eben Cole (Tom Hildreth), who hauls in lobsters for a living. Eben is happily married to Cheryl (Amy Jo Johnson), and the couple has a daughter named Sara (Emma Ford). Tired of mainlanders coming into his territory, Eben decides to take things into his own hands. One day he confronts one of these mainlanders and his sternman, going as far as to fire a shot at a buoy. Tragedy strikes when the fisherman becomes startled from the shot, hitting the boat's throttle and not realizing his sternman's foot is stuck on a rope. The sternman is thrown into the ocean, vanishing immediately. Eben is arrested and charged with manslaughter and spends five years in prison. When he is released, he realizes his wife has moved on with another man and his daughter does not know him. Meanwhile, the only person in the small town that is willing to forget about his past and see that he has changed is a local doctor named Emily (Judy Prescott). To find out if Eben is able to establish a relationship with this daughter and regain the respect of the townspeople, watch Islander.moreless
