Isolation is a 2005 Alien-like horror film centered around a rural farm in Ireland which becomes plagued by a gnarly outbreak of bovine-related disease. Dan Reilly (John Lynch) raises cattle on a small, bucolic ranch deep within the Irish countryside. He is approached by a group of scientists who ask if he'd allow them to use his unadulterated heifers in a scientific study. Strapped for cash, Dan willingly agrees to the experiment, but it seems the cows' genetic modifications have enhanced their behavior negatively - they are much more irritable and often bare their teeth. But Dan never expected his heifers to birth mutant calves! Reilly and five other unfortunate people desperately elude the blood-thirsty cattle who never cease in their hunt for human flesh. Isolation was written by Billy O'Brien and stars Essie Davis, Sean Harris, Marcel Iures, Crispin Letts, Ruth Negga and Stanley Townsend. This film is a must see for all those who enjoyed John Carpenter's The Thing, Ridley Scott's Alien, or Renny Harlin's Deep Blue Sea. Hurray for mutant livestock!moreless
