It Takes Two is a family film that centers around the antics of two young girls who look exactly alike. Alyssa Callaway (Ashley Olsen) is the daughter of a rich widower, Roger (Steve Guttenburg). She returns from a piano recital competition to discover Roger will be marrying Clarice (Jane Sibbett), an evil woman who hates kids. Meanwhile, Amanda Lemmon (Mary-Kate Olsen) is an orphan who is about to be adopted by a family she does not like. She wants her case worker, Diane (Kirstie Alley) to adopt her, but her salary is not enough. When Alyssa and Amanda meet, they decide to switch places. It soon becomes evident that Roger and Diane have a lot in common and the girls think they would make a good couple. They arrange for Roger and Diane to consistently run into each other so they will fall in love and get married. But many obstacles stand in the way of Alyssa and Amanda's plan and they realize getting Roger and Diane together will be much more difficult than they originally thought.moreless
