It's Only Money is a comedy film that centers on electronics repairman, Lester March (Jerry Lewis), who dreams of one day becoming a detective. One day, Lester and his friend, Pete Flint (Jesse White), a detective, hear about the search for Charles Albright Jr., the nephew of a wealthy woman, Cecilia Albright (Mae Questel). Hearing the reward for information leading to Charles is $100,000, Lester and Pete decide to sneak into Cecilia's mansion in order to find clues to his whereabouts. When they attempt to get into the mansion, the two are spotted by Gregory Dewitt (Zachary Scott), the Albright lawyer. Gregory believes that Lester is the long-lost Charles, which would put him in line to receive a large quantity of money. What Lester does not realize is that pretending to be Charles comes with deadly consequences. No one in the Albright Mansion can be trusted, making Lester wonder if he should reveal his true identity.
