Jack and Sarah is a charming British comedy about a single workaholic who struggles with becoming a dad. Jack (Richard E. Grant) is a champion of business who seems to always gets the job done. But when his beloved wife Sarah (Imogen Stubbs) dies during childbirth, Jack suddenly is face to face with the hardest job he's ever faced, raising his daughter on his own. Dealing with grief and fighting the urge to drink his troubles away, the savvy businessman realizes this is one job he can perform on his own; He turns to Amy (Samantha Mathis), an American waitress that he appoints as his nanny, and William (Ian McKellen), a drunken vagabond who cleans himself up and assumes the role of Jack's butler. As he grows to understand the new responsibilities he must face, Jack continually leans on Amy and William, two unexpected voices of reason in an ever growing complicated world.
